GENERATION Kunduz tells the story of five young Afghans. War is always omnipresent, but there is something else: hope and the will to change. Young women struggling against patriarchy for more recognition and better education. Artists shoot a film about love, with which they want to educate at the same time. A student serves as a volunteer in the election preparations. Martin Gerner documents a war zone without the typical clichés. He offers insights into the emotional state of a young generation growing up between the Taliban and foreign military and longing for an open society.
