Synopsis

Claire Doyon tells from her very personal perspective about the adaptation process of a mother who has dedicated her life to the fight against her daughter’s illness. Over 18 years, the director filmed her autistic daughter Pénélope, resulting in a moving story about living with an extraordinary situation. The shock of the diagnosis, the hope for a cure, the desperate attempts to „fix“ the girl change into a peaceful acceptance that leads to relieved self-knowledge. We see a profound and sensitive study of a very special mother/daughter relationship.
