Synopsis

The documentary provides insights into the lives of six second-generation Austrian women with Turkish and Kurdish roots. It addresses the challenges of growing up as non-white individuals in Europe and the difficulties of being women who aspire to freedom and a different lifestyle within a patriarchal migrant community. Each of these women shares her unique story and individual struggles. In doing so, the film challenges the widespread stereotype of oppressed Middle Eastern or Muslim women, showcasing the diversity of perspectives and experiences of these women.
