MY SWEET LAND | Sareen Hairabedian | US | 2024
The jury selected this exceptional debut for its sensitive portrayal of life in the Republic of Artsakh, a region in Nagorno-Karabakh with a strong Armenian cultural identity. Following 11-year-old Vrej and his family, the film explores the dual nature of home: a source of deep connection and security, but also a burden. Against the backdrop of the ongoing threat from Azerbaijan, the community prepares its children for armed resistance, raising profound questions about freedom and sacrifice.

Anna Werner Friedmann ist Theater- und Filmschauspielerin. Nach ihrem Studium an der HFS Ernst Busch ist sie seit 2019 im Ensemble des Düsseldorfer Schauspielhauses.

Laura Köpf ist Teil des nonstop Kinoabo Teams und verantwortlich für Marketing, Mitglieder-Events und Kooperationen. Davor war sie u.a. bei The Walt Disney Company und der Berlinale tätig.

Lorenz Uhl
Lorenz Uhl ist ein österreichischer Drehbuchautor. Er studierte Film in Hamburg und Drehbuch in Wien und seine preisgekrönten Arbeiten wurden auf Festivals wie Sundance und Vienna Shorts gezeigt.
Susi Jirkuff
Susi Jirkuff ist bildende Künstlerin und Filmemacherin. Ihre Filme wurden international gezeigt, ua. in Annecy, Animafest Zagreb, Dokfest Leipzig, Tricky Women, Diagonale und Crossing Europe.
Elisabeth Hajek
Elisabeth Hajek ist Kunsthistorikerin und Kulturmanagerin. Von 2012 bis 2022 war sie Künstlerische Leiterin des Artist-in-Residence Programms und der Ausstellungsreihe frei_raum Q21 im MuseumsQuartier Wien. Seit 2023 Kuratorin des MQ Wien.

Thomas Seifert
Thomas Seifert ist Co-Chefred. "European Voices". Zuvor war er stv. Chefred. "Wiener Zeitung", Redakteur u.a. bei "Presse" und "Falter". Er berichtete aus über 100 Ländern mit Fokus auf Krisen- und Kriegsgebiete.
Giora Seeliger
Giora Seeliger ist deutsch-israelischer Schauspieler, Regisseur und Gründer der ROTE NASEN Clowndoctors. Nach Ausbildung bei Jacques Lecoq tourte er mit seinem Wandertheater, lehrte am Max Reinhardt Seminar und spielte in Film und Theater.
Erika Borsos
Erika Borsos hat in vielen Bereichen des Filmvertriebs gearbeitet (Kinos, Festivals, Verleih). Sie war lange Zeit Leiterin der Filmprogrammierung bei Budapest Film und ist jetzt Filmprogrammiererin bei Top Kino und Schikaneder.

Jakob Dibold
Jakob Dibold studierte Kunst und Philosophie in Wien, interviewte und schrieb bis jetzt u. a. für ray Filmmagazin, Crossing Europe und IFFI, und arbeitet als freier Lektor.
Zoe Borsi
Zoe Borsi ist Filmemacherin und Festivalmanagerin. Sie gründete mit 18 Jahren das Film- und Kunstfestival Cinema Talks und seit 2024 leitet sie zusammen mit Elli Leeb die Initiative "Cinema Next. Junges Kino Österreich".
Vivian Grabowski
Vivian Grabowski studiert Theater-, Film- und Medienwissenschaft sowie Politikwissenschaft in Wien. Sie arbeitet für das YOUKI Festival und wird ab 2024 den YOUKI-Filmwettbewerb
