Der bulgarische Queer-Künstler Ivo Dimchev begeistert das Publikum weltweit mit seinen mitreißenden Shows, die Gesang, Theater, Tanz und bildende Kunst miteinander verbinden. Seine zeitgenössischen Kunstprojekte werden weltweit für ihren Mut und ihren innovativen Ansatz gefeiert. Während der Covid-Pandemie gab Ivo Dimchev mehr als 400 private Konzerte in Wohnungen in Bulgarien, Istanbul, New York und Los Angeles. Für einen Künstler, der gesellschaftliche Normen in Bezug auf Sexualität, Identität und Macht in Frage stellt, ist Bulgarien zu klein, homophob und konservativ. Ivo bricht auf der Suche nach künstlerischer Erfüllung nach New York auf, wo er selbst das Publikum des experimentellen Theaters aus seiner Komfortzone herausholt.

Ivo Dimchev is an internationally acclaimed Bulgarian multidisciplinary artist, a theatre maker, choreographer, visual artist, singer- songwriter known for his extreme and colorful mix of performance art, dance, music, visual arts, and queer activism. Renowned for pushing creative boundaries and challenging societal norms, Dimchev's contemporary artistic projects are celebrated worldwide for their boldness and innovative approach.
During the Covid pandemic Dimchev performed more than 400 private concerts in people’s homes in Bulgaria, Istanbul, New York, and Los Angeles. Ivo continues his queer activism through art, explicitly addressing LGBTQ+ visibility, sexuality, and identity politics in his performances and exhibitions.

Ivo’s power to convert personal vulnerability and collective hardship into impactful art and activism affirms the enduring capacity of creativity, love, and forgiveness to heal, liberate, and inspire.

Following the screening, Ivo will give an exclusive concert on the cinema stage.
