In present-day Madagascar, young sapphire miner Kwame toils in the shadows of the clandestine mines. When an unexpected event pulls him back to his hometown, he reunites with family and friends, only to confront the deep-rooted corruption suffocating his country. Caught between easy wealth and a stirring sense of purpose, Kwame must decide where his loyalties lie. With striking visuals and a pulse of Malagasy music, this film unfolds as a compelling coming-of-age journey, illuminating the personal struggles woven into a nation’s broader quest for justice and change.
